My work

My therapeutic approach

My therapeutic approach

I run a clinical counselling and psychotherapy practice in Romsey, Hampshire. 


In addition, I work as an undergraduate degree lecturer in Humanistic Counselling at Peter Symonds AHED College in Winchester, and as a counsellor at Carers Together, a charitable organisation supporting carers in Hampshire.

My clinical practice is rooted in Transactional Analysis, a humanistic therapeutic approach which helps us understand and change problematic thinking, feeling, behavioural and relationship patterns. It explains how our past experiences impact us in the present and allows us to work through them towards building positive ways of relating t

My clinical practice is rooted in Transactional Analysis, a humanistic therapeutic approach which helps us understand and change problematic thinking, feeling, behavioural and relationship patterns. It explains how our past experiences impact us in the present and allows us to work through them towards building positive ways of relating to ourselves and to others. I am also trained in EMDR, a specialist therapy approved by NICE and used for processing and healing from trauma, PTSD and anxiety disorders.

I am committed to adapting my approach to suit the individual needs of each client and couple. To this end, I integrate several approaches in my work. In addition to Transactional Analysis and EMDR, these include Gestalt therapy, Person-centred therapy, Emotionally-focused therapy for couples, Focusing-oriented therapy and Polyvagal theor

In addition to Transactional Analysis and EMDR, these include Gestalt therapy, Person-centred therapy, Emotionally-focused therapy for couples, Focusing-oriented therapy and Polyvagal theory.  I also draw on creative and experiential techniques and methods including visualisation and mindfulness.
